Grant Austen

Director

Grant Austen is a retired Information Technology Management Consultant who worked in the field for over 40 years. The specific industries included banking, airline reservation systems, manufacturing, entertainment, environment and court systems for the Victorian Government.

He has had a long association with both the Hawthorn and Box Hill Football Clubs, as well as having grown up ‘in and around’ the Richmond Football Club. However, his loyalty is to his beloved Hawks, leading him to be President of their Coterie Group, the Conferes, for two years!

One of the things that gives Grant the most joy is giving back to his community. Currently, Grant is the President of his local Rotary Club and volunteers on a regular basis at a local aged care facility.

Grant was at one of his Rotary Club meetings when MGF’s Founder, was the guest speaker. Her presentation on the evening inspired Grant to offer the Foundation the use of his Inverloch holiday home for first ever holidays/getaways.

Personally, Grant enjoys being able to spend as much time as possible with his wife, children and 11 grandchildren.

Most Cherished Childhood Holiday Memory - Playing in the sand dunes at Sorrento Back Beach with my older brother.

Favourite Destination - Egypt

Favourite Holiday Activity - Anything that involves as many of my grandchildren as possible, and preferably at the beach.
