GIVING WITH NO EXPECTATION

March Newsletter

This newsletter is dedicated to 5 extraordinary people who have given to the Foundation, with no expectation of any acknowledgement.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Winston Churchill

Tanya & Gary

They came to our inaugural Give Back & Getaway Dinner in December 2016 and have been donating every month since then, with no expectation of any acknowledgement.

Their donation helps us to continue to send Aussie children and their families on their first ever holiday.

Tanya and Gary are making a life by what we give.

I was humbled to receive a call from Dave, after he read the Foundation’s press release, about the Apap family going on their first ever holiday to Phillip Island in September 2017.

Dave offered his self-contained unit in Phillip Island for the Foundation’s use, at no charge.

Until, a few days ago, I could have walked past Dave in the street without recognising him.

Why? Dave gave, with no expectation of any acknowledgement.

Like Tanya and Gary, Dave is making a life by what we give.

Linda & Grant

I was the guest speaker at a Rotary meeting last November when I first met Grant.

Grant’s infectious smile and knowledge of social tourism gave me inspiration.

After the thirty minute presentation, Grant came up to me and said, ‘My wife, Linda, and I have a home at Inverloch which we’d like the Foundation to use for holidays. Please organise a time to meet with both of us to discuss.’

Just prior to Christmas, all the necessary arrangements had been made, specifically being able to use the home on four different occasions during 2018, at a cost of only $200 per visit to cover the cleaning and administration costs.

Words seem inadequate to express the Foundation’s gratitude to Linda and Grant who gave, with no expectation of any acknowledgement. Their generosity is a testament to making a life by what we give.

The Magical Getaway Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to social tourism.

Our target, prior to 30 June, is to send another 20 children and their families on their first ever holiday.

We have the destinations, thanks to Dave, Linda and Grant. All we need now is the funds for food, travel and tourist attraction entrance fees.

We need your help.

Please, make a life by what we give.

Your tax deductible donation will change someone’s life forever.

Thank you, in advance, from the 1 in 3 Aussie children who have never been on a holiday.
